Universal Close To ?Kick-Ass 2? Deals With Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Others

EXCLUSIVE: After Deadline revealed that Universal Pictures was stepping in to finance Kick-Ass 2 with Jeff Wadlow directing his script, the big question was whether the original Kick-Ass cast of Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, among others, would be back for an encore. There has been a lot of rumors lately that Johnson, who stars in the upcoming Oliver Stone-directed Savages, would leave and that other actors were being lined up for a recasting. This has been exacerbated by the fact that the original cast didn’t have sequel options, which meant that returning cast members from the Matthew Vaughn-directed 2010 original would require new negotiated deals. Johnson is nearly done with his deal to reprise as the title character. Moretz in a similar situation as is Mintz-Plasse. There are several other star roles for new characters, and it’s sure looking like it will work out well for a fall shoot.

According to Movie Fanatic, the Twilight Saga star is under consideration for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, the wildly anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games.

Finnick is described in Suzanne Collins' novel as a ridiculously handsome former champion of the competition at the center of the triology's story. He's muscular, tan and blonde-haired (doesn't exactly sound like R. Patt, does it?) and he harbored a troubled personal life.

The Pattinson rumored has gained momentum because Francis Lawrence will direct Catching Fire and he worked with Rob in Water For Elephants.

"As with the first film, we won't be confirming, denying or commenting on any casting rumors for this title," the studio said in a statement in response to this chatter. "We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce."

The sleeper hit “Revenge” will slide into the 9pm Sunday timeslot formerly occupied by heavy-hitter “Desperate Housewives,” which just ended its eight-season run on Sunday. Kicking off their European tour run in the UK, Jay-Z and Kanye West unwound following a concert in London on Saturday night (May 19) by throwing a 'Watch The Throne' tour London show after party at DSTRKT.

The hip-hop hitmakers threw the lavish bash as they're slated to perform the next three nights at London's O2 Arena before heading to Switzerland with ten shows following before tour's end on June 13th in Birmingham.

As for the star-laden after party, Kanye turned up to DSTRKT with his black dress clad E! reality star girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, on his arm.

Enjoying being able to spend time with her man on the road, Kim tweeted a pic of two plates of gourmet food with shiny gold and silver utensils atop to go with a message reading, "Meal with my baby on the throne before the show!"

CBS Reveals Series Renewals for 2012-2013 Season

CBS has renewed 18 series currently airing on its primetime schedule, granting some relief to viewers concerned about the fates of their favorite shows.

The renewals listed here –� four comedies, nine dramas, three reality series and two newsmagazines — will likely come as no surprise to most. For example, “NCIS” is the top rated scripted program on television, and its spinoff, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” ranks among Nielsen’s top 10 highest-rated programs for the season.

Neither should the absence of two freshmen titles, “Unforgettable” and “A Gifted Man,” shock anyone. CBS has the most stable schedule of all the broadcast networks and is not known for granting patience to under-performers.

So to prep for the big competition, Serena increased her intake of fruit, grains and nuts. ?My sister, Venus, is a vegan and we live together, so I started cooking more vegan food.?

Treating herself to a swanky evening out, Brittany Snow was spotted at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last night (May 1).

The ?John Tucker Must Die? cutie looked lovely with her new red tresses along with a black lacy dress and brown fur-lined jacket.

Brittany?s next movie ?96 Minutes? is a new genre for her, as it?s a bit more gritty than film?s she?s taken on in the past.

She explained, ?Well, I initially got the script like four years ago and I loved it. I thought it was really intense and that the story was a very important story to tell. I met with the director Aimee Lagos, and she told me it was all inspired by true events, which just made it that much more interesting. I stuck with her the last four years pretty much just begging her to do it, and then it finally came together. My friend Evan [Ross] got cast and then Christian [Serratos], so that was really exciting -- but from the beginning, this has been something that I've been very passionate about.?

As for her experience making the film, Snow shared, ?If you know Evan, you know there's no not having fun. He's a really playful, fun guy, and that actually led to some difficulties because he and I are really close friends and we were constantly joking around. He would be making me laugh and then I'd have to go into hysterically crying. Now, he can cry at the drop of a hat and not have to work himself into it at all, which I don't understand, but I ... I can't do that! [laughs] It was a lot of playing around and so as intense as the movie is, we got along really, really well. We all became like a family. I know that sounds kind of, you know, cheesy, but it's true. I think was really important for the movie because we felt really safe with each other.?
