Leighton Meester once gushed about her close relationship with her mother, Constance, to In Touch, but just a few years later, the Gossip Girl actress is locked in a bitter legal battle with her own flesh and blood. In a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the starlet claims her mom used money she sent for her little brother?s medical bills and spent them on plastic surgery and hair extensions. But Mommy dearest isn't taking the news lying down, insisting that her daughter promised to provide her with a monthly allowance in exchange for money she helped her make -- and that Leighton beat her with a bottle!
This isn?t Constance?s first tie-up in the legal system. Leighton was born while her mother was serving time in a Texas federal prison for her involvement in a drug ring. And earlier this year, Leighton?s former friend obtained a restraining order against Constance, alleging she threatened to kill her.
?I had a really good upbringing. I swear, that woman knows everything! She?s always had the right advice for me,? Leighton told In Touch about her mom in 2008. Looks like she's had a change of heart!
