Haley Reinhart Blows the Roof Off 'The House of the Rising Sun' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

When her performance began, it was just Haley Reinhart, a stool and her voice. Sheryl Crow suggested she begin her take on 'The House of the Rising Sun' a cappella and it turned out to be a bold and powerful suggestion: Reinhart stole the show on 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX).

It can be advantageous to perform last on a show that opens the lines to public voting as soon as you finish, and Reinhart took total advantage of that. She may have gotten mixed reviews for her first performance of the night, but everyone was blown away by her show-closer.

Randy Jackson put it quite succinctly: "The award tonight for the best performance of the night goes to Haley!"

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
