Lionsgate Restructures Film PR Unit, Adds Disney Exec Jennifer Peterson
Lionsgate is reorganizing its Theatrical Publicity department under EVP Theatrical Publicity Julie Fontaine, whom the studio scooped up from Disney back in March. Under the new structure, films on Lionsgate's slate will be divided between two project teams to drive all PR initiatives. One of those teams will be led by VP National Publicity Jennifer Peterson, who has just joined the company from Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Marketing, where she had worked since 2001 shepherding domestic PR on such films as Alice In Wonderland and Toy Story 3. The other team will be led by newly promoted VP National Publicity Jamie Blois, previously Executive Director of National Publicity and a key part of the strategy for the studio's Tyler Perry franchise.�Todd Nickels will continue to spearhead Lionsgate's New York-based theatrical publicity as SVP National Publicity and will work with both teams. 'Love in the Wild' Premiere Review: 'Love' Isn't Exactly the Word for It...
A camera pans over a massive green mountain, hazy blue sky and surrounding valley. The footage looks like maybe it got cut from Jurassic Park for being too majestic. Two parallel planes dance together as they fly over a lush ravine. We see their smiling faces peering anxiously, hopefully out the tiny windows as an Australian voice says, "Inside these planes are ten single men and ten single women. They have one thing in common: They're all looking for love."Thus begins tonight's premiere episode of Love in the Wild, NBC's newest reality dating series that clearly wants us to believe that it considers itself a real-life romantic epic, grand in both its location and hopes for its contestants. At least in the beginning, the show's intentions sound reasoned and pure (at least to those who have never actually seen a reality dating show before): To put these young, attractive, single, mostly white people on dates in the most extreme of wilderness situations, reward the most successful male-female partners with romantic prize packages, and hope that the combination of thrilling adventure, gorgeous landscape and mandatory teamwork will result in a lasting love for at least one of these couples. "It's like speed dating meets Romancing the Stone!" a naive person might think to him- or herself. "An epic tale of risk, danger and romance!"

The wait is almost over Potter fans! The blogs have been all abuzz lately with talks of ?Pottermore,? the biggest thing to happen to Harry Potter fans since The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at Universal Studios. Yesterday during a press conference, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling revealed, ?Pottermore has been a really great way to give back to the Harry Potter readership, who made the books such a big success. It?s just been a phenomenally exciting project. We?ve been working on it for a couple of years.?
But what exactly is Pottermore? While the website won?t be up and running until October, there is a teaser message on the home screen that reads, ?Pottermore is a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books.?
Thankfully for all the superfans out there, during the conference J.K. gave the world a better peek into the new material Pottermore will be offering. ?I would say that I have had more than half of the new material already written - and I?ve also generated some new content, particularly the introduction to the houses. That was a fun opportunity to go back, rethink how it might have been if Harry followed a different course. So I?ve generated quite a lot. 18,000 words at launch but I?m adding to it. In fact I?ve already given material on the other six books. We?ve been working on this for about two years so this has been in the works quite a long time."
Not only has J.K. written new material, but Pottermore will also give fans a chance to be ?sorted? into their own Hogwarts house, just like title character Harry did in the first book! ?The Sorting was some of the best fun I?ve had on this project. I was writing the Potter books for 16 years and during that time I had just had this real sense of where people belonged, in what house they belonged. It was something I was unconsciously doing a lot of the time when I met people. If you?re not sorted into Gryffindor, if you?re sorted into one of the other three houses you will effectively get an extra quarter chapter because you will go off to your own common room. If you are sorted into Gryffindor you just follow Harry. But if you?re sorted into Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin, you go to your own common room, you meet your own prefect, who will tell you about famous people who were in your house and what the true nature of your house is.?

Fan website The Leaky Cauldron has the entire press conference interview, for all those fans out there who just can?t get enough. 'Torchwood' fans, rejoice. We're less than two weeks away from the stateside debut of 'Torchwood: Miracle Day,' which premieres on Starz July 8. John Barrowman and Eve Myles are slated to return as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper, joined by 'Torchwood' newcomers Bill Pullman, Lauren Ambrose, and Mekhi Phifer. Tuesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), Phifer shared a clip from the 'Doctor Who' spin-off and also divulged a few details of the plot.In the clip, Phifer's character is shown getting impaled through the chest with a rod that flies off the back of a truck ahead of him. Brooke Mueller Demands Charlie Sheen's Money
Brooke Mueller was found wandering the streets of Maui this month, clutching cash.
But apparently it wasn't enough, as the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen has submitted court documents that demand Warner Bros. withhold $55,000 per month from whatever it owes the actor; Mueller is not confident he will be able to meet his child support obligations.
Sheen is not actually behind on his payments, mind you.
But insiders say Mueller wants to take every precaution she can and has asked the studio to wire the monthly figure directly into her bank account. Hopefully that will give the troubled star something to smile over.

After losing none of the dancers after the first week of competition, the judges had to pick four SYTYCD contestants for elimination in week 2. As it turned out, the unlucky four were Iveta Lukosiute, Nick Young, Missy Morelli and Wadi Jones. Three of the eliminated dancers talked to reporters on Friday morning about the judges' choices, being on the show and future plans.

Joining in on the star-studded spectacle, Willow Smith was in attendance for the 2011 BET Awards in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday (June 26).
The "Whip Your Hair" cutie was joined by her famous family including brother Jaden, along with parents Will and Jada, as group took to the Shrine Auditorium while Willow prepped for presenter duties.

Kristin Bauer van Straten Goes Missing on 'Access Hollywood Live' (VIDEO)

On 'True Blood,' Kristin Bauer van Straten plays a ruthless vampire named Pam, not exactly the kind of character you'd expect to go missing while taking her pooch for a nice stroll. That's what happened Friday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) when Billy Bush and Kit Hoover opened her interview segment to an empty chair, wondering where van Straten had gone.Bush announced her as a guest, said she was somewhere in the building, but they didn't know where. Van Straten eventually appeared with her dog, to help drive home the show's pet adoption theme, and talked about the contrast between her own personality and Pam's. "It's so fun to channel that other side on television," she said.
Van Straten said Pam's storyline for season four is "wild," and hard to describe. "It's a crazy storyline," she said. "It's quite something to try and talk about it but not give it away." You'll just have to watch 'True Blood' to see if she's right.
Christopher Meloni To Co-Star In 'Man Of Steel'
Christopher Meloni, who a month ago surprised everyone by exiting his longtime home as co-star of NBC's Law & Order: SVU, is in line for a big-time follow-up. I hear he is in negotiations for a major role in Man Of Steel, the Superman franchise reboot from Warner Bros that Zack Snyder is directing. No word yet on what part he might get, though. He would join such big-name players as Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane in the film, which stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Review: 'True Blood' Is Back, With Yet More Vampires, Witches and Melodrama

Oh, 'True Blood.' What am I going to do with you?Just like one of the characters on the show, 'True Blood' (9PM ET Sunday, HBO) goes through a transformation in the first couple of episodes of its fourth season. Creator and head writer Alan Ball appears to have remembered that his characters -- human, shapeshifters, vampires, faeries and the like -- are living beings with actual emotions and not just objects for him to Bedazzle with ever-thicker encrustations of incidents, events and OMG moments.
It's a refreshing and surprising change of pace. But then in the third episode, the show starts to show signs of falling into ruts it has frequently and heedlessly dived into before.

There are some perks to being a dog, and clearly there are some perks to playing a dog on television. Series co-creator Jason Gann, who plays the dog 'Wilfred' (Thu., 10PM ET on FX) in both the current US series and the former Australian series, certainly seemed to be enjoying the perks in the series premiere.The central conceit of the show is that Elijah Wood's character Ryan sees his neighbor's dog Wilfred as a man in a dog costume. Everyone else sees a dog.
We also see Gann in his costume, which is why we get to enjoy bizarre visuals of Wilfred nuzzling his nose between a waitress' breasts and even starting to hump her.

Peter Falk, Star of 'Columbo,' Dead at 83

Peter Falk, the Emmy-winning star of 'Columbo,' has died. He was 83.CBS Radio News confirmed via a family spokesperson that Falk died on the evening of June 23.
Falk was best known to audiences as Lt. Columbo in the NBC/ABC police series. The last episode aired on ABC in 2003.
Besides the hit drama, Falk was nominated for two Academy Awards, for 1960's 'Murder, Inc.' and 1961's 'Pocketful of Miracles.' His last credited film role was the 2009 flick 'American Cowslip' opposite Cloris Leachman and Diane Ladd.

Kathie Lee Gifford brought her full compliment of double entendres to Jamaica as she and Hoda Kotb appeared on one of the island's most popular television programs, 'Smile Jamaica.' The segment appeared on Thursday's 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) and featured Gifford and Kotb wearing dresses inspired by the Jamaican flag, as well as a hang-out session out with singer Shaggy.Gifford apologized for letting the flag drag. "Well my coconuts were hanging kind of low," she said, "so the flag was almost dragging to the floor. That's a crime in America.
