Max Landis, Ron Howard Team Up On 'Amnesty' Pitch
EXCLUSIVE: Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have acquired Amnesty, a pitch from writer Max Landis that Ron Howard is attached to direct. Imagine chief Brian Grazer will produce. While the logline is being kept under wraps, I'm told it blends Robert Ludlum and JRR Tolkien. So it's Jason Bourne trying to remember his identity on the road to Mordor? Landis scripted the Josh Trank-directed fright film Chronicle. Landis is repped by WME and Circle of Confusion. Howard and Grazer are hard at work with Akiva Goldsman prepping for the first installment of The Dark Tower, with Javier Bardem starring in the first of what is planned to be three films and two limited run TV series for Universal, based on Stephen King's mammoth tale.
