Scotty McCreery & Laura Alaina: City of Hope Softball Stars

Spending the weekend in Music City, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina showed off their athletic skills at Greer Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (June 11).

The "American Idol" winner and his runner-up gal pal joined fellow stars such as Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill, Chuck Wicks and Jack Owen in partaking in the annual City of Hope Charity Softball Challenge.

Excited about the event - which raises funds to help find cures and better treatments for cancer and a host of other devastating diseases - McCreery tweeted prior to taking the field, "Gettin ready for the softball game today! #TeamOpry"

The softball efforts followed a big night for Scotty and Lauren - as the duo took turns making their stage debuts at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday.

During the Opry gig, Lauren took the stage first while singing "Blue" by LeAnn Rimes along with her single "Like My Mother Does" while Scotty treated the audience to his debut single "I Love You This Big" and George Strait's classic "Check Yes or No".
