Connie Britton Heading to FX? Rob Schneider Lands CBS Pilot and More

Connie BrittonOscar-nominee David O. Russell is teaming with 'Friday Night Lights' star Connie Britton for a new female-driven FX drama.

According to TVLine, Russell, director of 'The Fighter,' will create the series with the Emmy-nominated Britton attached to star.

It's too early to reveal other details, but shouldn't "Connie Britton" and "female-driven drama" be enough to get you onboard?

o. Rob Schneider could be returning to TV with a new CBS sitcom. The currently untitled pilot is based on the 'Saturday Night Live' veteran's life after he married into a large Mexican-American family. [Deadline Hollywood]

o. Nia Vardalos is heading to 'Cougar Town.' Vardalos, wife of 'Cougar Town' star Ian Gomez, will play his character's sister-in-law. Vardalos's character seems to think Gomez's Andy is the one who got away. [TVLine]

o. Taylor Kinney has joined the cast of NBC's 'A Mann's World.' The pilot from Michael Patrick King would see the 'Vampire Diaries' veteran playing a popular stylist at a spa where an aging hairdresser is trying to remain relevant. [Deadline Hollywood]
