Cablevision Hit By Internet Service Attack
It happened last night, and for about six hours�prevented�some customers — no word on how many — from being able to use the Web. Cablevision says that it was a Distributed Denial of Service attack, which means that someone flooded its network with communications, causing it to slow down or grind to a halt. But the company says it has fixed the problem and is trying to find out what caused it. Cablevision�has nearly 3M broadband customers, most concentrated in New York City and its suburbs. Here’s its release:
BETHPAGE, NY, November 30, 2011 — Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE: CVC) is alerting customers that it experienced a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the Optimum Online network during the evening hours Tuesday night. The company announced that the attack has been remediated and resolved. It began at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday and was resolved shortly after midnight, when all service returned to normal. The attack Tuesday night caused a disruptive increase in automated requests on a portion of the network, which impacted the ability of some customers to access certain websites and other Internet services. DDoS attacks have been directed at several leading technology companies in recent months. Cablevision is continuing to investigate the cause of the attack.

Has ABC canceled 'Pan Am'? Series star Karine Vanasse sent a vague tweet about the future of the series."Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas," she said on Twitter. "But up to the end, we'll give it our all!"
The series, set in the 1960s, followed a group of young stewardesses and pilots as they traveled the world as part of Pan American World Airways. Christina Ricci, Margot Robbie, Kelli Garner, Mike Vogel and Michael Mosley round out the cast.

ABC Family Renews 'Pretty Little Liars' For Third Season

"A" will be back to wreak more havoc on the 'Pretty Little Liars' for another season. ABC Family has renewed the hit teen-skewing series for a third season.After teasing fans with a Halloween prequel, Season 2 is set to continue on Mon., Jan. 2 at 8PM ET. The third season will likely launch this summer and be 24 episodes.

Tameka Raymond to Usher: No Kids For You!
The ex-wife of Usher is determined to make this anything but a happy holiday season for the ab-tastic artist.
Tameka Raymond - who split from the singer in June 2009 - has filed documents in a Georgia court that ask the judge to strip Usher of physical custody of the former couple's two children. On what grounds?
Based on legal papers obtained by TMZ, some that are possibly understandable... and others that are downright ridiculous. Tameka alleges:
- That Usher is obligated to get her approval prior to hiring nannies, but has failed to do so.
- That Usher must give her the option of watching the children when he's away for more than eight hours, but has not always done so.
- That Usher reneged on giving his ex custody of the kids for two weeks this past summer and during Christmas 2010.
- That Usher has failed to obtain permission for Tameka to travel outside the state with her children, as previously promised.
- That - we are not making this up - Usher canceled her Saks 5th Avenue credit card.
Overall, Tameka claims she is owed $34,000 in child support - and she's asking for even more per month going forward, due to a "substantial change in [Usher's] income." In other words: Usher has become even more of a success since he divorced his wife, and now she wants to reap the benefits of his hard work.
Even the Occupy Wall Street protestors would take exception to that argument.

2011 ARIA Awards: The Show, The Winners
Held as a way to recognize excellence and innovation across all genres of Australian music, the 2011 ARIA Awards were the place to be in Sydney, Australia on Sunday (November 27).
The annual event went down at Allphones Arena with a long line of stars working the red carpet press area before heading inside for the Land Down Under ceremony.
Among the early arrivals this year were Kylie Minogue and sister Dannii, with Kylie being inducted into the Hall of Fame by PM Julia Gillard along with fellow HOF honoree The Wiggles.
Upon taking the stage, Miss Minogue told the crowd that she felt "amazement I am still here ... Gratitude, humility, wonderment and pride."
Meanwhile, celebrity presenters turning up for the 2011 ARIAs included the lovely Delta Goodrem in a tan and black Lisa Ho long dress, along with Benji and Joel Madden, Erin McNaught, Katie Noonan and Molly Meldrum.
The show featured performances by acts such as Gurrumul, The Living End, Guy Sebastian, Art vs Science, Drapht and Cut Copy, with a total of thirty trophies being handed out to big winners such as Boy & Bear (who took home a pack leading 5 in categories including Best Album) and Gotye (who won Best Male, Best Pop Release and Best Single for his chart topping single Somebody That I Used to Know).

Exclusive Interview: Wedding Bells Next For Cancer-Stricken Ethan Zohn
It?s been nearly a decade since they fell in love through their mutual wins on Survivor, and now, Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca are finally ready to say ?I do?! ?We?re looking forward to bigger goals that don?t involve cancer, like marriage,? Jenna tells In Touch, despite the long road ahead for Ethan, which includes a new form of chemotherapy and another stem-cell transplant.

Sarah Silverman's NBC Show Gets a Pilot

Sarah Silverman is one step closer to being NBC's newest star. According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered her untitled comedy project to pilot.The show is loosely based on Silverman's life. She'll star as a woman who is adjusting to single life after her decade-long relationship ends.
The comic co-wrote the project with her 'Sarah Silverman Program' cohorts Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder. She'll also serve as executive producer with Ron Howard, Sterling, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo.

She?s always a fan of a challenge, and Keira Knightley had to dig deep for her role in the forthcoming flick ?A Dangerous Method.?
The ?Pirates of the Caribbean? babe plays Sabina Speilrein, a former patient of Carl Jung who exhibits hysteria and has a large influence on both Jung and Sigmund Freud and the development of ?the talking cure.?
Keira explained that she was immediately drawn to the role for multiple reasons. ?Everything. I didn't know anything about her. I got sent the script and I just thought the story was completely fascinating. Obviously, I had heard of Freud and Jung, but I had never read anything about them really, and again, I didn't know anything about their relationship either. So the whole thing fascinated me.?
She also noted that the gig wasn?t any different just because her character was a real person. ?No, not really. I mean, I think sometimes it's sort of easier because there's quite often a lot more information, you're not making it up, it's there in books, it's there in research form. But really the questions you ask about the character, and why people behave, and where they come, and how they've ended up in the places they've ended up [are the same].?
In order to prepare for the part, ?I had about four months before I started shooting when I knew that I was going to play the role. So I basically spent that four months reading as much as I could. When I'd taken the part, and when we'd gotten a yes from everybody, the first thing I did was phone up Christopher Hampton, who wrote the script, and the play, and also wrote Atonement, which I was in.?
?I phoned him and just [said], ?I'm playing it, but help!? I went to his house, and he just handed me an enormous pile of books, and said, ?Start reading.? So I dutifully did. You know, it was wonderful, it was a load of books I probably wouldn't have read if I hadn't had a reason to read, and they were completely inspiring and enriching and very helpful for playing this part.?

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Officially Over
Demi Moore will divorce Ashton Kutcher after six years of marriage.
"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Ashton then took to his Twitter page to send a message to his fans: "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK," he wrote.
As In Touch previously reported, Ashton surprised Demi for her 49th birthday ? with a trip to the Caribbean earlier this month. And although ?they tried to have a fun weekend and not focus on the past,? a friend says, the past continued to haunt the couple.
