Taylor Swift Raises Major Dough for Tornado Victims

Taylor Swift's unique benefit convert has paid off - and then some.

On May 21, the singer/songwriter allowed 13,000 fans to sit in on a rehearsal for her upcoming tour, with all proceeds going to the victims of last month's tornado in Alabama. The result? Three quarters of a million dollars raised.

“It was so wonderful,” Swift told Access Hollywood of the event. “It was almost like playing our first show because were playing for 13,000 people and it’s the whole show the way we would do the last dress rehearsal and I’m just so excited that we got to raise $750,000 dollars for the victims of the tornadoes.”

It's been a great week on a professional level for Taylor, too. She took home Billboard Awards for the Top Country Artist, Top Country Album and Top Billboard 200 Artist on Sunday night.
