HBO Renews ?True Blood? For a Fifth Season

In a move that’s surprising to virtually no one, HBO officially gave the greenlight to a fifth season of “True Blood” on Thursday.

Not only is the vampire thriller one of HBO’s most popular series, but creator and executive producer Alan Ball had already informed reporters attending the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that he had finalized a deal to continue as “True Blood’s” showrunner through the end of next season. HBO is currently airing the fourth season of the series.

“I don?t have any desire to leave,” Ball told critics two weeks ago, “because I?m having more fun than I?ve ever had in my life.”

The fifth season has been cleared for 12 episodes and is scheduled to premiere…
